29 Aug NEO+ Series EN 54 Certification Process Completed
All products in the NEO+ public address and voice evacuation range have successfully completed their certification process with the Applus+ notified body.
This ensures that the NEO+ series is fully EN 54-16 compliant and meets the requirements for voice alarm control and indicating equipment for fire detection and fire alarm systems.
The NEO-8060+ main unit and its NEO-8250E+, NEO-4250E+, and NEO-4500LE+ extensions have passed all laboratory certification tests. They comply with the international standard EN 54-16 and the requirements of the European Construction Products Regulation (EU) 305/2011.
The certification also includes accessories that extend the system’s connectivity and functionalities, such as:
- MPS-8Z+ and MPS-8Z microphones.
- VAP-1 and VAP1-FES voice alarm panels.
- TFL-2 end-of-line device.
- NEXO AES67 network audio converter and ACSI v2 bus controller.
- EVAC Control and EVAC Cloud platforms, which allow users to control and supervise all the system’s equipment from a desktop application, both locally and remotely.
- Ethernet switch EQ-242910, with SFP modules EQ-242911 (up to 20 km) and EQ-242912 (up to 2 km).
- Ethernet media converter EQ-201035, with SFP module EQ-201036 (2 km).
Within the industry, EN 54 certification is an essential endorsement for manufacturers, engineers, integrators, and installers, ensuring that the product delivers maximum performance and complies with the most stringent standards in terms of safety, construction quality, and operability.
In this context, Applus+ stands out as one of the world’s leading inspection, testing, and certification companies, recognized for its in-depth understanding of the international standards that regulate the market.
NEO+: The Evolution of a Robust System
The new NEO+ series is the evolution of NEO, a public address and voice evacuation system with a long market history that has now entered a new development cycle to meet the evolving needs of the industry.
With NEO+, there are new installation and integration possibilities, including a communications module based on AES67 technology for digital audio transmission at network level 3. NEO+ also features an enhanced processor, a redundant hot backup controller, and the capability to connect up to 32 microphones or evacuation panels directly using ACSI v2.
Additionally, the AES67 NEXO audio converter transforms NEO+ into a powerful certified public address and voice alarm system when configured through a ring network installation. This setup allows up to 128 NEXO devices to be connected, each equipped with an ACSI v2 port for adding up to 32 additional devices (MPS-8Z and MPS-8Z+ microphones and VAP-1 or VAP1-FES panels). As a result, a single NEO+ system can support up to 4096 ACSI v2 devices (32 x 128).
EN 54 Standards
The EN 54 regulations, harmonized at the European level, have become an international standard due to the rigor of the CE certification schemes required for marketing these products.
The EN 54 standards series covers three main groups: central voice alarm control (EN 54-16), loudspeakers (EN 54-24), and power supply equipment (EN 54-4).
The audit required for this renewal was conducted by Applus+, an entity recognized for its independence, impartiality, and proven processes. This ensures that the NEO+ system delivers optimal performance in active fire protection and safety.
LDA Audio Tech offers installers and integrators a wide range of solutions fully aligned with the EN 54 standard, including products from the NEO+, NEO, and ONE series, as well as loudspeakers and other accessories.
