About This Project

The Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, affiliated to the Sorbonne in Paris, is now equipped with a public address and voice alarm system manufactured by LDA Audio Tech and installed by IBAM Systems.

The project is a multi-site system of 11 buildings, with a NEO 8060 controller in each building and supported by 14 NEO Extension units to deliver the power required by the installation.

The whole system is managed by our SIME Control software platform, which handles the launch of the global sources: microphones, centralized background music and pre-recorded messages.

It is also equipped with SIME’s Text-To-Speech (TTS) module and a second server with a backup manager module to ensure system availability under any circumstances.

Each building is integrated with the fire control center for local evacuation in a public address system that is highly technically demanding. Contact closure control has been used through the proprietary SIME software to provide two background music type sources at each input and switch between them.

LDA Audio Tech provided remote assistance to the integrator all along the project, supporting them to ensure that all the equipment was working correctly. As a result, the network communication between all the buildings was perfectly configured and all the functionalities required by the project were provided.

Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, founded in 2006, is considered by Forbes to be the best humanities university in the Middle East. It provides education in English and French and is affiliated with Sorbonne University in Paris via an agreement with the government of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
