MADRING International Circuit, Formula 1

About This Project

The MADRING International Circuit, in Madrid, is equipped with a NEO+ public address and voice evacuation system built for the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix, covering the circuit, grandstands, pavilions, Fan Zones, and Hospitality areas under a single safety architecture.

In a venue that brings together such different uses under one roof, an EN 54 certified voice evacuation system ensures the emergency message reaches every zone with the same clarity.

NEO+ architecture for a multi-use circuit

The system runs on NEO+ and is organised into 15 sites connected via NEXO Hub over an Ethernet network with a dedicated VLAN.

The circuit site, the largest of them, integrates 59 NEO-4500E+ extensions distributed across 20 racks along the track, with a NEO-8060+ as the main unit and a second unit as backup. 456 Biamp Community R.35-3896-EN loudspeakers cover the grandstands.

The 5 sites in the Hospitality areas and the 9 in the Fan Zones integrate the audio systems already in place in each space into the same evacuation architecture, with no need to replace them. Two control stations, main and backup, manage the whole system through VAP-1 panels.

The installation was carried out together with partners DZ and Ruybesa.

Synchronisation and EN 54 coverage

Synchronisation between sites runs on AES67, which distributes digital audio in sync across locations throughout the venue. On this basis, the system allows custom evacuation routes to be set by area, matched to each space’s prevention plans.

With its EN 54-16 certification, NEO+ helps meet Spain’s fire safety and voice evacuation regulations for public spaces.

MADRING is IFEMA Madrid’s International Circuit, built in 2026. It’s a permanent facility combining a racing circuit, exhibition pavilions, Fan Zones and Hospitality areas within a single venue, with capacity for 120,000 people a day. The circuit hosts the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix, under an agreement with F1 running until 2035.
