15 Sep LDA ONE reinvents itself and becomes expandable
LDA ONE, the most compact and cost-effective EN 54 public address and voice evacuation system on the market, evolves and becomes ONE v2, an expandable solution through a proprietary ring with standard UTP wiring and thanks to a firmware update.
The entire system scaled with ONE will still comply with the EN 54-16 standard, certified by the notified body Applus+, through each of the equipment that is part of it and its cascading function, also approved by this body.
To set up a ONE v2 system, you only have to use one expansion card per system, adding it only to the main device to close the UTP cabling ring.
This new functionality comes through a major firmware update developed by LDA Audio Tech’s R&D department, in search of maximum flexibility and adaptation to the needs of our international customers.
All the new ONE devices that leave our factory do so with the v2 firmware and expandable functionality, while the previous devices can be easily updated* while maintaining the same hardware and incorporating an expansion card.
Thus, ONE v2 is configured as the ideal system for multizone installations and those with variable power. This is the case of office towers, schools, medical centers and hotels, that require a scalable and modular solution that does not renounce any advanced functionality in terms of security and reliability.
Thanks to this new firmware, ONE v2 allows several ONE500 units to be cascaded through a proprietary UTP wired ring. This means that up to 10 ONE devices can be connected to form a 5,000 W 60 zone system.
Easy to configure and flexible
The network topology consists of main and linked devices, with an extremely simple arrangement: all the hardware units are the same, the equipment with the connected expansion card will be easily configured as main and search automatically for the other connected devices. The ring cabling length covers up to 200 m per link with a total maximum of 800 meters.
Each unit keeps all ONE functions fully operational in its stand-alone version: integrated EN 54-4 battery charger, backup amplifier, routed through priority management and the possibility of A + B loudspeaker lines.
This is how expandable ONE works
Expansion modules available
How to turn the ONE500 unit into a fully functional ONE v2? By adding an expansion card to the master machine to close the UTP cabling ring. This is the ONE-LOOP module, in mini PCI-e format to connect to the main device. That is, only one card per system will be required.
This module provides redundant communication for the system to be monitored and controlled according to the requirements of the EN 54 standard.
LDA Audio Tech has developed two card models:
1. ONE-LOOP04, expansion module for ONE systems with up to 4 devices.
2. ONE-LOOP10, expansion module for ONE systems with up to 10 devices.

Maximum functionality and scalable operability
In their expanded configuration, both the main and the linked include up to 6 zones each and 500 W of amplification @100 V, with the possibility of playing up to 2 simultaneous audios per unit.
Up to 8 ACSI sources can be connected to the main device, sources such as MPS-8Z microphone or VAP-1 evacuation panel. So that these units will be used to launch voice or pre-recorded messages to any zone of the system (main or linked) through keyboard expansions.
The main unit also incorporates 1 general audio source that is available in all linked units. This source can be background music (BGM), an analogic microphone, or even a mixture of both signals. Both the main and the linked also include 2 local audio sources: one for background music and one for microphone or BGM, to choose from.
All the system equipment (main and linked) have 2 playlists with internal pre-recorded messages (EVAC and ALERT) for every 6 zones.
The integration of the system with fire panels can be done generally in any unit (EMG and RST interface) or zonally, using each of the ONE linked units. Likewise, each unit may be integrated through MODBUS RTU.
All main-linked device communication is ensured through the ring’s proprietary protocol, including supervision of slave devices and notification of failures and evacuation, among other functions.
