About This Project

Armazéns do Chiado is a shopping center with fifty stores and restaurants located in the heart of Lisbon. With almost 14,000 square meters, it features a public address and voice alarm system manufactured by LDA Audio Tech.

The venue is equipped with EN 54-16 certified NEO systems, providing centralized and zoned control to facilitate evacuation in the event of an emergency. Additionally, the venue’s speakers will be replaced with EN 54-24 certified LDA models to safely cover the public areas and comply with current regulations.

This department store was founded in 1894, modeled after those in Paris. However, the current building is the result of a major refurbishment following the Chiado fire of 1988, which destroyed the original structure. The building is now part of the Lisbon Pombalina heritage classification.

The retail platform Multi manages the shopping center, while the PA/VA system manufactured by LDA has been installed by the company DNCS.
