The Bank of Israel is the central bank of Israel, in charge of issuing foreign currency. It is headquartered in Jerusalem, with a branch in Tel Aviv.
It was founded on August 24, 1954, when the Knesset approved the regulatory law of the Bank of Israel, which happened to have banking supervision.
