05 Jun How many built-in amplifiers and output zones does LDA ONE have?
The built-in amplifiers and different output schemes provided by LDA ONE are one of the main features of this EN54 certified public address and voice alarm system, the most compact and cost-effective in the market. This article will explain how to configure the power outputs with this equipment.
LDA ONE has two built-in 500 W(*) amplifiers that work dynamically to provide two simultaneous audio streams in all zones.
Although each amplifier can provide up to 500 W(*), they are limited by the power supply unit in ONE, so in total they cannot provide more than 500 W(*).
You can never tell the system which amplifier to use for each output, but this is always done dynamically.
For example, if you only want to have the same audio in all outputs, you will only need one simultaneous channel, therefore LDA ONE will only use the amplifier #1.
Only when you need to use two simultaneous channels (for example, background music and microphone), LDA ONE will use both amplifiers. For example, the amplifier #1 for music and amplifier #2 for microphone.
When you want to use three or more channels simultaneously, ONE will only activate the two channels with highest priority and the rest will not be used (because we don’t have more than two amplifiers).
Finally, if one the amplifiers is failing, ONE will automatically switch to 1-channel mode. This is in fact the backup amplifier functionality. In this case, we will only have the possibility to listen one simultaneous audio channel, but we will notify the ‘BACKUP AMPLIFIER’ fault. In this case, the system automatically uses the highest priority source, no matter which one has been assigned to.
* Note: 500 W according to EN 60065. 200 Wrms according to EN 54-16.
Audio channels management
You will never route manually the amplifiers or the channels to each output. You will just tell the system which inputs you want to activate in every output and LDA ONE will do the rest automatically.
To clarify the system operation, let’s set out different practical cases and scenarios. Please, note that the only parameter you need to configure are the cells with violet shading.
