The historic Rosenheim Town Hall, a former railway building and regular filming location for the TV series Die Rosenheim-Cops, runs on an EN 54-16 public address and voice evacuation system made by LDA Audio Tech. The installation combines four ONE-500 controllers in a ring configuration with a renewed speaker network to deliver clear announcements throughout the building.

From railway station to town hall

The building that now houses Rosenheim’s town hall (Bavaria) started out in 1858 as a railway station, designed by architect Eduard Rüber. It passed into municipal hands in 1878 and has served as the seat of local government ever since.

Its facade has become known well beyond Rosenheim thanks to the German TV series Die Rosenheim-Cops, where it doubles as a police station. As an active administrative building and tourist landmark, it receives public employees and visitors every day. That makes a public address and voice evacuation system essential, one that can handle everyday announcements and, in an emergency, deliver clear evacuation instructions in line with EN 54-16.

Public address and voice evacuation with the ONE system

The upgrade, carried out by Phoenix Professional Audio together with our partner Gräf & Meyer, replaced the old public address setup and brought the building’s entire speaker network up to date.

At the core of the installation are four ONE-500 units linked in a ring through the ONE-LOOP module, certified to EN 54-16 and EN 54-4. Each controller packs class D amplification, emergency management and backup power into a single 2U chassis, with six independent audio outputs and three noise-suppressed inputs that keep voice intelligibility consistent.

The system is operated from an MPS-8Z microphone desk with an MPS-8K keypad extension, letting staff select zones and launch announcements from a single control point. The result is a century-old town hall with a public address and voice evacuation system built for its current needs, without losing its historic character.
